The Reichert Planetarium presents a new, exciting program for young astronomers! Enroll your kids in our Junior Astronomer Workshop for four days filled with stellar activities, crafts, games, and Planetarium shows. This is a series of educational workshops run by the Reichert Planetarium’s talented astronomy educators. Junior Astronomers have the opportunity to learn about multiple astronomy topics including our solar system, how to use a telescope, and identifying constellations they can see from their own backyard! This program focuses on hands-on learning with STEAM activities and crafts supplemented by immersive live and recorded full-dome presentations in our Planetarium theater.

Our Junior Astronomer Workshop will run from Monday, August 23rd – Thursday, August 26th. Each session is from 9:00am – 1:00pm.

Registration is open for junior astronomers between 8 and 12 years old. The registration deadline is August 13th.

Cost: $145 for non-members | $125 for members. Interested in a membership? Learn more here.

Each day includes a show in our planetarium, an educational activity or game, a craft, and a break for lunch.

Lunch will not be provided. Junior Astronomers are expected to bring a bag lunch, which will be refrigerated.

Anyone who is not vaccinated must wear a face mask. There will be time set aside for campers to eat lunch and take a mask break.
